This unique project is part of the Berlin Part-Time MBA Programme and a joint initiative between the Berlin Professional School at HWR Berlin and the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University (Kansas, USA). It brings together experienced MBA students from both institutions to collaborate in international teams on real-world business projects.
Strategic Value for German Companies
In times of shifting trade policies, rising energy prices, and evolving immigration regulations, entering the US market requires both strategic foresight and up-to-date operational know-how. Our International MBA Strategic Consulting Project 2026 offers innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups from Berlin a unique opportunity to develop a data-based, customized go-to-market strategy for the US.
The Berlin Professional School and Wichita State University have more than 20 years of experience in supporting Berlin companies on their way into the US market: Transatlantic educational excellence. More than 130 companies – including Hertha BSC, Berliner Seilfabrik, DexLeChem, Freiberger u. v. m. – have benefited from this collaboration.
The project runs from December 2025 to April 2026 and concludes with:
- A detailed market entry concept (approx. 40 pages) with actionable recommendations
- A professional pitch deck for the company to be shared with investors and partners
Why Now?
- Trade and Tariffs: Amid a more protectionist US trade environment, companies need wellresearched strategies that anticipate potential import restrictions and leverage existing trade agreements (e.g., USMCA).
- Energy Costs & Sustainability: With regional differences in energy pricing and stricter ESG reporting obligations, sustainable business models are gaining competitive advantage.
- Talent and Migration: Current US immigration policy focuses on skill-based visas and start-up pathways, creating new opportunities for transatlantic ventures.
Our project incorporates these dynamics into the strategic planning process.
Company Commitment
To ensure project success, participating companies are asked to:
- Dedicate approx. 2–4 hours per month of management time
- Provide relevant commercial data (protected by NDA)
- Support team logistics with a small hospitality budget (e.g., for workshops)
